Description: DescriptionYAMAHA YP-800This record player was developed based on Yamaha's experience in player production.The YP-800 was available in two variants: the YP-800 equipped with SHURE's M75EMII cartridge and the YP-800CL without a cartridge.The YP-800 features a 31cm-diameter die-cast aluminum turntable.It is carefully finished with ultra-precision machining for dynamic balance during rotation, and has a mass of inertia of 300 kg/cm2. In order to eliminate resonance of the turntable, the outer ribs are reinforced and the turntable itself is finished with a thicker wall. The hardness of the rubber sheet has been specially selected to suppress resonance of the turntable, and the shape of the rubber sheet has been carefully considered to ensure the best fit with the surface of the record.The drive motor is a 12-pole, 24-slot brushless DC servo motor developed for direct drive.The turntable directly connected to the motor's rotor transmits the motor's rotation directly to the record's constant speed (33, 1/3, and 45 rpm).The DC motor is not affected by the frequency of the power supply, and its speed is highly stabilized by a highly accurate servo mechanism.A touch-feeling microswitch is used to switch the speed.The electric contact allows one-touch switching and smooth speed selection. A ±3% speed fine-tuning knob is provided independently for each rotation speed, allowing the user to make fine adjustments while viewing the stroboscope for each rotation speed to obtain an accurate rotation speed.The tone arm uses a light alloy S-shaped pipe arm with a gyro-gingival support system for the rotation axis.The main pillar of the rotary bearing of the gyro-gingival support is made of a single piece of zinc die-cast using high-precision machining technology, which eliminates rattling from the joint and improves durability. In addition, the bearings are carefully selected for their high orthogonal accuracy to achieve a high initial sensitivity of less than 10 mg for both vertical and horizontal movement.The S-shaped arm is made of 10Φ light alloy pipe.The inside force canceller employs a method using a counter bar and roller string. The string suspension system absorbs vibration and guarantees accurate tracing without distortion.The needle pressure adjustment is a direct-reading type from 0 to 3g in 0.1g steps, and a cartridge from 3g to 24g can be used by using the included sub weight together.
