Description: This is a nice WW1 U.S. helmet unit marked from my 50 plus year collection. Unit marked to: H company, 2nd Battalion, 319th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division. Helmet is complete with the only detraction being a broken chin strap. Marked inside liner as shown. The 80th division went overseas in June 1918. Major battles were the Somme (1918), Meuse-Argonne, and Saint Mihiel. They suffered 880 K.I.A's. and 5,149 W.I.A's. The 319th Regiment was made up mostly of men from Allegheny County & Erie areas of Pennsylvania and a few from eastern Ohio. A nice original unit marked helmet for your collection.
