The hat has the beautiful fluffy ostrich feather. It is less white than on a newer hat. The sash has also yellowed with age. It has the look of the period which it is from. If you prefer, I am certain the sash at least can easily be cleaned to remove most, if not all of the aging. The case is in exceptional shape. There are a couple scratches here and there. The brass needs to be polished. I started to. It will shine up nice but you will need a tool like a dremel to get in the small areas. There is no key!
