Description: Vintage 6 1/2 LP Lot #37 - Play-Tested Christmas Records Comments: These records were all cleaned and then fully play tested from start to finish. Why, you might ask is this lot listed as being for 6 1/2 records? That's because of the 7 records offered, one is for Christmas on one side only and the other side has some problems playing well. Condition and play-test comments appear below. All of the records (except 1 side) play great with excellent sound reproduction. There were no skips or sticks when played (except for that 1 side). Most of the records are in new, white paper inner sleeves. All of the album covers have been placed in new, poly outer sleeves for further protection. Following is a list of the records included with further condition and play test comments:The Vienna Choir Boys - Christmas Festival - 1976 - RCA Red Seal Records - VG+ jacket - light wear and 1/2 inch split bottom seam at right edge. Vinyl looks VG+ and is very glossy with some light surface scuffs. Background record surface noise is mild, but there are occasional ticks/clicks throughout much of side A but less so on side B. A deeper cleaning may help. I only wiped this record down with a record cloth since it already looked so good. The music is reproduced with great quality, is very nice and it is easy to enjoy. The Caroleer Singers and Orchestra - Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer - 1971 - Diplomat Records - VG- jacket - splits on bottom edge and seam, previously taped seams, many creases, moderate general wear. The images remain stunning nonetheless. The tape seen on the back cover bottom in my photos fell off since the photo was taken. The VG vinyl is still glossy with numerous surface scuffs. There is writing on the record labels. This isn't necessarily a children's record even if that's what the cover leads one to believe. The songs lean more toward adult oriented. The music plays with good quality of sound. Background record surface noise is heard as a mild crackle along with a few ticks and clicks.Mario Lanza - Christmas Hymns and Carols - 1971 pressing of 1963 release - RCA Camden Records - This is an amazing record with glorious sound. The album cover is in VG+ condition with only light wear and a few small creases (like at the lower corners). The vinyl is in EX condition - very glossy with just a few light marks. The labels seems to have a little bit of discoloration. Background record surface noise is very mild - not really heard much in the music. Just a few light ticks were noticed. The music comes across with a great big booming rich sound.Various Artists - Around The Christmas Tree: A Special Christmas Day Program - 1959 - Decca Records - The cover looks pretty good. I gave it a VG+ grade. General wear is light. There are a few worn-through spots on the edges. There is a crease across the lower right corner. There is some age-related discoloration in the white on the back side. The vinyl still retains shine. I gave it a VG grade. There are numerous surface scuffs and some light scratches. The labels look great. When played, general background surface noise is very mild. Occasional light ticks are heard in quieter parts. A tiny scratch in the third song from last on side 2 produces a couple of pops. Overall, this is a great sounding record though.Perry Como Sings Merry Christmas Music - 1961 - RCA Camden Records - Nice looking cover in VG+ condition. General wear is light. There is a dent at the lower left corner and a small tear on the edge at upper right. The vinyl is in glossy VG+ condition. There are some surface scuff marks but they are very light with little to no effect on play. Background record surface noise is very mild. The sound quality is great and the music enjoyable.Frederick Stock / Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Tchaikovsky - Nutcracker Suite and other pieces - probably early 1950s release - Columbia Entre Series RL 3002 - This is the "half" record of the lot. I call it that because a scratch on side 2 causes a repeat. But this record is included in this lot because of the Nutcracker Suite side and that side plays fine with mild background record surface noise and periods of light ticks/clicks throughout. Besides that, the record just feels good to handle - It's one of those nice, heavy old ones with cool looking labels. The vinyl is in VG condition other than the repeater scratch on the flip side. There is still some gloss, but also scuffs and some scratches. I found the Nutcracker very enjoyable to hear. The B-side of the record can't be played continuously without intervention. You can listen to the first selection on the B-side and then lift the needle to get past the scratch near the beginning of the Sibelius piece where the stick occurs. After that the rest of the side plays fine with some ticks and clicks. But like I said, this record is included for the Christmas favorite Nutcracker side and that side plays fine. The record cover is in VG- condition with taped seams and light general wear. There is a May Company price sticker on the back. Rex Humbard and the Cathedral Of Tomorrow Music Staff - Season's Greetings (In a early 1960s Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer album cover) - vinyl probably released in the 1970s - This is one that needs a simple explanation. I have this wonderful looking Rudolph album cover without a record and I have this enjoyable Rex Humbard LP whose cover was beyond trashed. So I conducted a brief ceremony and united the two for this lot. - The Rudolph album cover has some edge and corner wear, some stains on the back and somebody did write on it, but I think it's still a fine example of 60s Christmas art. - The Rex Humbard record is still glossy with some light surface scuffs. It looks high-end VG condition and plays with mild background record surface crackle and ticks/clicks once in a while. The sound quality in the beautiful music is great. Some short Bible verses are interspersed with the music from time to time.Shipping Notes: A substantial portion of the cost for this lot covers the postage and packing materials required. I'll pack these well for safe shipping with the records tucked into the outer poly sleeves, outside of the jackets. I generally pack and ship items sold right away and hand them over to the post office at the earliest opportunity (sometimes same day, sometimes next day). Please see the photos to check out the condition for yourself to the extent possible. Zoom right in and have a good look. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------LOCAL PICKUP RULES: If Free Local Pickup is offered for this item and you choose that option instead of an option to have the item shipped to you, there are a few rules to be aware of. When multiple items are shipped together, I can almost always give you a better deal on the shipping cost compared to the individual shipping costs. I promise to give you the best rate possible based on the items purchased and the shipping method required. For "Buy It Now" items (most of what I offer), simply add each item that you want to your shopping cart. When ready to commit to buying, request a total from me from your cart and I'll send an invoice as soon as I can. Since I'm not a computer and I do other things like sleep and take the dogs for walks, you might not receive an immediate response, but I will get back to you as soon as possible. If you decide to pay for items you want individually instead of requesting a total from the shopping cart, I will promptly send back whatever money I can for a shipping discount. Some items are not compatible for combined shipping. Combining shipping might require changing the shipping method or increase packaging materials expense. A few items that I offer are not eligible for combined shipping. Of course it is ok to ask about combined shipping costs up front. You have to tell me exactly what you intend to buy and where it will be shipped. I can't always give an exact cost, but I can at least give you an estimate.I reserve the right to limit the number or total value of items that I'm willing to send in a single package. For international sales I use ebay's international shipping program. Combined shipping depends on the ebay shipping program rules in place at the time of shipment. It is possible that no combined shipping discount is available for international orders.************* End of long-winded answers to hypothetical questions ***********
