Description: A fabulous antique English Edwardian gentleman's 9K rose and yellow gold red paste solitaire ring, dating to 1917. This wonderful gentleman's solid 9K rose gold ring was made at the height of World War I when resources were scarce and limited amounts of jewelry were being produced in England, the ring with a beautiful deep glowing red paste cabochon held with 10 yellow gold long prongs, the ring with eye catching forked shoulders and a rich polished rose gold setting creating a very striking and unique look! The ring has English hallmarks with ' 9 .375', the Birmingham anchor and date letter 'S' (with top hook pointing up) for 1917. The ring tests for 9K gold. The ring is approximately a size 8 3/4. The ring measures approximately 12mm x 10mm across the face. The cabochon measures approximately 9mm x 6mm. The ring rises approximately 6mm above the finger and weighs approximately 4.5 grams. The ring is in general very good condition with general wear including some rubbing and tiny nicks to the cabochon. The 10 prongs are all long and secure. The ring has been resized.
