Description: Excellent condition, this is a beauty with a few minor scratches here and there, but definitely very clean. R serial number, that means it is from 1988. Original bracelet is included, but right now it is on a nice black leather strap. Hands, dial and crystal are in perfect condition. It was recently serviced and is running very, very accurately. The crown locks in nice and smoothly for a secure water seal. The 16234, is quite a step up from the earlier model, this has the quickset movement. I believe it is known as the 3135, but the quickset is great. You change the date easily by pulling out the crown to the first click. Also, the bezel is a white gold, not stainless steel like some of the other models. The crystal on the 16234 is sapphire, unlike it’s predecessor the 1600 series that had acrylic crystals. I love the warmth of the acrylic crystal, but they scratch and break and get damaged easily. So, the 16234 model that I am offering has got many upgraded features from the earlier datejust that it replaced in the Rolex catalog. This is of course, the 36 mm diameter, sits perfectly on the wrist - not too small, not too big or clunky like many of today’s watches are. It is also light as a feather! Like many of the vintage Rolex watches, this one has got lug holes, making strap or bracelet changes a breeze… I feel this is so much hipper than today’s Rolex watches. The new ones are a little bit heavier and not quite as sleek as a vintage one like this. This is truly a splendid example of a Rolex Datejust… And the price is right! Clean and running great!
