Overall, a very nice copy of this rare book. William Thomas Cash (1878-1951) was the first State Librarian for Florida. A teacher and school superintendent in Taylor County, Cash was also a member of the Florida House of Representatives (1909, 1915, 1917) and a member of the State Senate (1919). From 1925 until 1928, he was the editor of the Perry Herald, and in April 1927, Cash was appointed state librarian, a post he held until his death. He is listed as "Great Floridian". A collection of his papers are held at the Florida Archives. Cash was the author of two books, The History of the Democratic Party in Florida (1936) and the four-volume The Story of Florida (1938).
