Here Scott offers the reader page after page of the practices & tools used and needed to effectively practice black magic, white magic and witchcraft. Often even citing his sources. All of this however is delivered in the air of disbelief, as if he's proving how unlikely, ludacris and misguided these practices actually are. This is where the controversy begins, is Scott's “discovery of witchcraft” something like an act of satire, or is it a ruse to communicate and preserve these teachings and practices in an era where that would get you burned at the stake. This is actually not as farcical as one may think. In fact, it mirrors tactics used by other authors writing on occult and scientific topics for hundreds of years prior.
