Mexican Revolution Border War ~ Pascual Orozco ~ Real Photo Postcard RPPC 1911

Description: Original Real Photo Postcard image of Mexican Revolutionary Pascual Orozco (28 January 1882 – 30 August 1915) taken in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico in February 1911 during the Battle of Juarez which took place during the very beginning of the Mexican Revolution. Pancho Villa was involved in this battle and made a name for himself. Juarez is directly across the Rio Grande River from El Paso, Texas. A very clear image showing great detail of Mexican Revolutionaries Pascual Orozco, his father and brother armed with a Colt or Marlin Rifle and what appears to be a Winchester and Mauser Rifle and lots of Cartridges in Bandoliers. The card is in excellent condition with no creases or bends. Postally unused. Postage includes full coverage insurance Pascual Orozco Vázquez, Jr. (28 January 1882 – 30 August 1915) was a Mexican revolutionary leader who rose up to support Francisco I. Madero in late 1910 to depose long-time president Porfirio Díaz (1876-1911). Orozco was a natural military leader whose victory over the Federal Army at Ciudad Juárez was a key factor in forcing Díaz to resign in May 1911. Following Díaz's resignation and the democratic election of Madero in November 1911, Orozco served Madero as leader of the state militia in Chihuahua, a paltry reward for his service in the Mexican Revolution. Orozco revolted against the Madero government 16 months later, issuing the Plan Orozquista in March 1912. It was a serious revolt which the Federal Army struggled to suppress. When Victoriano Huerta led a coup d'état against Madero in February 1913 during which Madero was murdered, Orozco joined the Huerta regime. Orozco's revolt against Madero somewhat tarnished his revolutionary reputation, but his subsequent support of Huerta compounded the repugnance against him. The First Battle of Ciudad Juárez took place in April and May 1911 between federal forces loyal to President Porfirio Díaz and rebel forces of Francisco Madero, during the Mexican Revolution. Pascual Orozco and Pancho Villa commanded Madero's army, which besieged Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. After two days of fighting the city's garrison surrendered and Orozco and Villa took control of the town. The fall of Ciudad Juárez to Madero, combined with Emiliano Zapata's taking of Cuautla in Morelos, convinced Díaz that he could not hope to defeat the rebels. As a result, he agreed to the Treaty of Ciudad Juárez, resigned and went into exile in France, thus ending the initial stage of the Mexican Revolution. I have been collecting real photo postcard images of Far West Texas for over thirty years and have decided to start selling some of my treasures so that other collectors can enjoy them. They will not be cheap because of the rarity of the cards. Also, because of the time and trouble I have invested in them. I traveled tens of thousands of miles to different towns and cities throughout Texas and some other states going to postcard, book and paper, collector and gun shows. Checking out antique shops and second hand stores. Going to auctions before eBay existed and spending tens of thousands of hours culling through hundreds of thousands of postcards. Then came eBay and I have spent over ten thousand hours going through hundreds of thousands of postcards. I paid dearly for the items I offer on eBay as a collector, what I am trying to say is the search, finding, buying, storing and protecting took a lot of time, money and effort. I might end up having my collection cataloged and then selling it to an academic institution to realize the biggest return on my investment, but I will wait to see how it goes on eBay first.
