Description: Measures about 5 x 5 inches. Items comes from the collection of Ronald (Ronnie) David Gaillardetz (1941-2000), who had documented his tour in the US Army. He joined on December 11, 1961, Manchester, New Hampshire. Arrived at Fort Dix on December 26, 1961, and did basic training with Company A 3rd Training Regiment and supply clerk school with Company F 5th training regiment. He shipped for Germany on April 24, 1962, aboard the USS Gordan and arrived on May 1, 1962, at 63rd Ordnance Company, Spinelli Barracks, Mannheim Germany. Later on, he moved to the base at Pioneer Kaserne (Hanau, Germany) and eventually onto the base at Offenbach Kaserne (Offenbach, Germany). He changed companies on May 26, 1964, to the 19th Ordnance Battalion Hd. Det., Spinelli Barracks, Mannheim, Germany. Gaillardetz served in three battalions: 15th Ordnance Battalion Frankfurt, 85th Ordnance Battalion Hanau, and 19th Ordnance Battalion Mannheim.
