Description: Truly stunning pair of art deco flapper era rose carved plastic bangles set in coral and marbled jade color. I’m truly perplexed by what the plastic material is. I actually paid quite a bit of money for them at the thrift store because the clerk said they had just been donated by the Portland museum of art. I figured they must be hand carved. There’s no repetition in the rose pattern details, they each vary somewhat and no seam inside the bracelet to assume celluloid yet I tested for Bakelite with hot water and did not get a smell so I’m really unsure of the plastic material but I do know they are truly beautiful and one of a kind from the 20s 1930s era.
