Description: The Chaplet of theFifteen Hidden Tortures This is a little-known devotion approved by the Church - pray while meditating upon the sufferings of Jesus while he waited in the prison the night before His Crucifixion. The 15 horrible tortures and sufferings were given to us through a Franciscan nun who had a vision in which Jesus told her about his "hidden" sufferings. The chaplet was approved by Pope Clement XII. Although these events are not recorded in the Bible or other common Church Traditions, they are accurate in regards to what historians have learned about the treatment of Roman prisoners of the time. This chaplet begins with a 1-1/2" tall Crown of Thorns Crucifix that has red enamel on the cross. The 7/8" oval silver-toned centerpiece has a full color picture of the Crucifixion on the front with a textured back. Both crucifix and center were made in Italy; the chaplet itself was handmade by me in our home in the USA. All 18 beads are 8 mm. The three beads in the beginning are smooth, round, genuine Amethyst gemstones. The 15 beads in the circle are faceted and firepolished genuine Czech glass in a ruby/crystal bicolor that symbolizes the Holy Eucharist and the Divine Mercy, Chaplet is about 9-1/2" long and comes gift-boxed and with the following: The Chaplet of the 15 Secret Tortures pamphletEcce Homo prayer cardcarry Pouch Gift bag and tissue paperAssorted other related prayer cards The instructions are simple and the chaplet takes very little time to complete. Although they are not like the usual smaller professionally printed prayer cards, most of our customers prefer them since they are like a pamphlet with 4 "pages" and several images, prayers, patronages and often other information about the saint or Catholic devotion.
