Description: Goerz 19" Artar (485mm) Large Format Lens and retaining ring. No caps.Barrel lens, not mounted in shutter I dismantled it and soaked the elements in peroxide/ammonia to clean any possible film/fungus and what surfaced was the above pictured defect. It's not fungus, it could be a coating defect (I don't know if this one was coated - some were) but there is no indication of any break in the surface looking at an angle with a flashlight. I don't think it's possible for it to be a defect in the glass itself.
