I just tested this out in my basement office and was able to tune in AM and FM local stations just fine. The overall size of the radio is 12.5" across, 9" tall (with the handle in the down position) and about 4.5" deep - not counting the handle. It's in good overall condition for it's age except for the 1 clip that holds the antenna down is missing a piece of the plastic.
