FIRST Edition SIGNED by Eric Carle I SEE A SONG 1973 Crowell, HC Dust Jacket

Description: This listing is for a very rare First Edition Copy of 'I See A Song' published by Thomas Y Crowell in 1973, signed by its author and iconic illustrator Eric Carle, the brilliant mind behind the seminal picture book The Very Hungry Caterpillar released to widespread praise just three years before. The book can be described as being in fair condition. This copy is ex libris. There is significant scuffing to the board's edges and obvious damage at the book's spine ends. Both the original dust jacket and boards show signs of tape being previously present. The dust jacket has tears and minor chips present, some of which have been repaired with tape. There is a possible non-standard slight lamination layer to the jacket. Inside there are bookplates and stamps present consistent with a library book. There are marks on pages within. Due to the damage at the top of the spine, the binding is slightly fragile. However all pages hold firm with none detached or missing, I've tried to be very thorough with this description but it should be emphasised that this copy is still in very fair condition for a 1973 used children's book. And as a First Edition with Eric Carles's signature, still housed in its original Dust Jacket, this book is doubtless a rare find.
