Description: Name: Rhadinocrinus, Bactrocrinus, 2 Sm. Unidentified Age: Devonian Formation: Hunsruck Shale (Bundenbach) Location: Bundenbach, Germany Size: Plate is 6.6" tall, Bactrocrinus is 5" long!We recently acquired some nice fossils from the late Joseph Butterfield Collection (NJ). We will be auctioning these fossils here over the next few weeks. This is a very cool Devonian crinoid multiple. It is a beautiful Rhadinocrinus dactylus lying on top of a distinct Bactrocrinus jaekeli, from the famous Bundenbach Slate of Germany. The quarry where this specimen was found used to mine roofing slate for decades, but is now shut down - the only way to obtain the unique fossils from this site is through the dispersal of old collections. Both of these detailed crinoids have their long arms intact, and both LONG stems are attached and easily seen. The striking fossils are replaced with iron pyrite, or ''fool's gold'', and are beautifully showcased on the large, squared plate of roofing slate that also contains two small, unidentified crinoids that are growing off of the stems of the larger ones! This is a very collectible multiple slab of different Bundenbach crinoids direct from the Butterfield Collection.A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS.com is included with this specimen. Insurance is included in the cost of shipping.Note: International customers may have to pay a duty at Customs - every country's rules are different.
