Missing title engraving (?) and two plates. There are also 2 pieces missing from the text: p.129-144, and p.210-215..The book is otherwise in good and neat condition. Clean and fresh, compact, solid. Two small restorations with paper tape. Otherwise excellent. Binding solid. Despite the mentioned defects, an asset to any collection. 2) Old & rare small religious booklet 1640 with engravings Concilii Tridentini - Philippi Chiffleti - Antwerp, Ex off. Plantiniani, 1640 - small compact size in nice 17th century leather binding - illustrated with beautiful title engraving and 3 portraits - 358, LXXII pp + extensive index - 12 x 7 x 5 cm Complete, in good condition. Compact. 3) Old & rare Manuscript from 1643, Dutch island of Walcheren Publication or registration of 33 ordinances on the island of Walcheren...10 numbered pages, 20 pp, double-sided writing. Can be folded compactly. Signed. Complete, rope-bound, on handmade paper. Final rule: "by order of the states of the Eylants of Walcheren together with the commissioner of the broad(?) inherited (?) his own (?) Eylants" 4) Old & rare miniaure Jesuit book, 1636 - P. Hieremias Drexelius 'Den Hemel, de stadt der Salighen , het derde deel des Eeuwicheydts' - 1636P. Hieremias Drexelius / P. Franciscus de Smidt - Antwerpen Joan Cnobbaert, 1636 - perkament - 576 pp - Af.. : 10 x 5,5 x 3 cm. In good and clean condition. Complete, solid. 5) The Thousand and one Night, Arabic tales. - Translated into Dutch from French, by G.D.F. - first part - Amsterdam, Philip Verbeek, 1708 - loose part - 274 pp (from ?) In mediocre condition. Missing front cover, back cover half loose - missing some last pages - first section loose, some leaves almost loose, slightly frayed - 14 x 8 cm - block broken into 2 pieces - S.W.A.F Rare booklet, no other copy worldwide 6) Old and rare poetic manuscript on handmade paper with curious round watermark from 1798 Manuscript, double-sided, in Dutch, published by "Roomsch Catholijk Broederschap te Amsterdam",( Roman Catholic brotherhood Amsterdam) by Claes Lauwes, secretary, 1798 Written in poetic form. Opening sentence: ..." our old road from Roomen, lay with heavy dreams at night , dreams so wonderfully and strangely, he watches the Vransen ( the French ) afternoon ready, frantically with bare blades...." The poem expresses in dramatic way concerns about the Roman Catholic Church in the Netherlands under French rule.... The original text has been converted into a more readable modern Dutch. That sheet is attached. Fragile, with signs of age 7) Anonymous - unknown master drawing, probably by a Spanish or French artist, 19th century On sturdy made paper, glued in the two top corners to a cardboard base. Dimensions 18 x 18 cm, unsigned, pencil. Group of 3 men, sitting, one reading a book.
