I hope to have 100+ BIN JIVE listings continuously by the end of 2024.*************************************************************************************************************Awesome 3 Way- Machine Age 1937 Truetone D-703 AM/SW Table Tube Radio-WorksPRIVATE STOCK FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION!!!Here for your consideration is an Awesome 3 Way- Machine Age 1937 Plascon Truetone D-703 Table Tube Radio in repaired working condition.This is one of the few radios I have ever seen that can be set on a table in the horizontal or both vertical positions.This 10.5“ x 6“ x 7“ five tube radio is just a joy to look at with its Ivory Plascon case and rear cover, dual brass „mesh“ over the grille, dual Ivory Bullet knobs and full 300 degree tuning dial. Total Eye Candy!I believe the cabinet had no cracks, chips or hairlines when I purchased it 20 years ago, but under close examination, there is a ¼“ hairline in the corner of the grille.This radio has a full plascon back cover.I took this to my Tech friend Tom recently, and he replaced 11 capacitors, the dial lamp, and fixed the line cord. The tube radio sound is awesome.I picked up over 12 AM stations across the entire AM band loud and clear with an added short wire antenna.There is a 2.2-6.0MHz Police band and I could get some chatter, but honestly this Police band is pretty dead unless you use an outdoor antenna.The dial and most of the cabinet light nicely for evening tuning and viewing.It could use a good cleaning to really POP. I’ll leave that up to you. It's not that I'm lazy, but most people like them showing some age, and those who like them looking almost new usually enjoy cleaning them to the level they prefer.
