Description: (This historic even was recorded January 1975 in concert at Ambassador College, CA...)Maestro Arthur Rubinstein has to be the best pianist ever in terms of longevity. It is remarkable how well he performs Beethoven's Appasionata, Chopin's Scherzo #3, and the Great Polonaise in A-Flat at 88 years old. Being an amateur concert-pianist and having studied all these pieces by myself, I cannot thank Rubinstein enough for his courage, dedication, and being an absolute role-model to inspire me to spend the hours of work necessary to be a concert pianist. Rubinstein is the best! Also, I love how maestro Rubinstein interprets Chopin's Waltz in C-Sharp. He plays it very nostalgic in a tranquil tempo (for the main theme), and he is the only one to play it in this way. I love to hear his interpretation because it relaxes my soul and puts me off to another place--a better place where the only thing that truly exists is music. (customer review)
