From the estate of a close family member. Unsure of the date of purchase but most likely in the 1960s or 1970s, however they are much older than that. During the time she owned these plates, they were always stored, unused, in a china cabinet in a pet-free, smoke-free home. *In 1769, Josiah Wedgwood (1730–1795) opened a second factory in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. He named it Etruria after the region in Italy where pre-Roman Etruscan culture flourished.
