Description: This wonderful English Regency lap desk dates from Circa 1800 - 1840 and features burl walnut and brass hardware. It was designed as a gentlemen's or gentlewomen's traveling desk. Inside there is a gilt leather and wood folding writing surface and below are several storage areas for inkwells, pens, papers, sealing wax, etc. It also has two secret small drawers inside which are hidden by a panel. Lifting a divider releases a hidden catch. Please see the photos. Condition: The general appearance of the desk is very handsome with beautiful aged wood and brass elements.
