Description: Antique 1900s Edwardian Mourning Black Net Dress with Jet Beading. This beautiful Edwardian mourning dress is made from black silk and black netting. It has beautiful hand-beaded panels down the center front and at the bottom of the skirt. The mesh sleeves were originally finished with a beaded tassel at the cuff--only the left side one remains. The body of the dress is fully lined with a black silk that has faded to a grey/brown. There is a waistband made of the netting that was once fastened in a bow on the back, but has since been damaged. This item has significant damage and is best for display purposes. The panels of the jet beading are very fragile, but approx. 97% of the jet beading remains and are not actively falling off. The netting is shredding throughout.
