Description: This listing is for a large lot of Chicago Mayor RICHARD J. DALEY Tabs They are from one of the 1970's elections. These tabs were acquired from the manufacturer at the time of the election and have been stored since that time. The condition is nice with some minor signs of age. They measure approximately 1/4" x 7/8" There are about 4.6 ounces. I would estimate that there are 200 tabs based on the number of tabs per ounce. Richard Joseph Daley (May 15, 1902 – December 20, 1976) was an American politician who served as the mayor of Chicago from 1955, and the chairman of the Cook County Democratic Party from 1953, until his death. He has been called "the last of the big city bosses" who controlled and mobilized American cities.[1] He was the patriarch of a powerful Chicago political family. His son, Richard M. Daley, would also go on to serve as mayor of Chicago and another son, William M. Daley, served as the United States Secretary of Commerce and White House Chief of Staff.
