1961 A New History of The Book of Common Prayer

Description: Good Day! Up for sale today we have a pretty nice old book. This is A New History of The Book of Common Prayer (With a Rationale of Its Offices). It was printed in 1961 by Macmillan and Co. Ltd. For the authors, it says "On the basis of the former work by Francis Procter, M.A. ... Revised and Rewritten by Walter Howard Frere, M.A. ... It looks like the original Procter book was published in 1855. The original Frere version looks like it was published in 1901. Please view photos, as I did try to photograph the information pages so you can see things like dates, editors, publishers, contents, etc. This is a hardcover book. It is in pretty decent overall shape, but it does have wear from age and use. The covers have some wear, including some rubbing and fading and such. The pages have some tanning and may have some age spotting/discoloration. There may be some little dings or dog-ears, a little creasing, small spots, smudges, etc. throughout the text. This one does have a name/date inscription on the inside front cover. It also has a little bit of underling and marking inside. I didn't see too much - I'd guess there is marking on roughly 15-20 pages or so of the 699 page book. Overall, these are used books, and I have 2 cartloads of books to go through, and I just can't flip over every single page, but I'm generally pretty good at spotting issues. I did not see anything of note with this book other than the issues described above. That being said, the book(s) will have some age and use wear that is perfectly normal for being older, used books. The spine(s) are probably not as tight as they once were. They may have some smudges or a little light discoloration, etc. Just think of it as the kind of thing you'd find at a thrift store or garage sale. Someone's old, used books. This book came from a large library of religious/religious studies book owned by, I believe, a pastor or reverend. Very large or bulky items may not be able to be combined, just depending on whether or not I can find a box large enough. Smaller items shouldn't be a problem.
