Does include wooden display case. HISTORY & STYLE of the PATTERN The "Burgundy" sterling flatware pattern was designed and made by Reed & Barton in Taunton, Massachusetts. Introduced in 1949, “Burgundy” has always been a strong selling pattern. R&B responded to its popularity by bringing forth a huge variety of different pieces for the pattern -- one of the widest assortments for any pattern by any manufacturer. The pattern was finally discontinued after 70 years, in 2019, but this classic still remains enormously popular. “Burgundy” is rendered with crisp details -- swooping Bodoni-style leaves in bas relief surround a convex cartouche above a single flower and berries. (The design is meant to draw attention to a monogram, should you decide to add one.)
