1940's-1950's JOSEPH CHRISTOPHER O'MAHONEY WYOMING DEMOCRAT CAMPAIGN BUTTONS

Description: This is an interesting pair of campaign pinback campaign buttons for Joseph Christopher O'Mahoney. Joe O'Mahoney was a democratic senator from Wyoming. During FDR's New Deal Joe O'Mahoney was probably the most popular politician in Wyoming. He served four complete terms as a U.S. Senator from 1934-1953 & again from 1954-1961. These two buttons were issued during one of his campaigns for U.S. Senator. But, we do not know which of his campaigns that they are from. One button has the wording: "A Good Joe O'Mahoney" & the other button has the wording: "He Can Win O'Mahoney I'm For Him". The first button mentioned has a crimping assembly flaw on the edge at the 2:00 o.clock position. This resulted in a one inch strip along the edge that is indented (as made). Otherwise, the two buttons are essentially in fresh bright near mint/ mint condition. Each button has a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. The backs have folding pins. There is a union seal maker's marking below the wording on the front of each button. These two buttons were recently found in an early estate from New Jersey where they had been carefully sequestered since sometime during the 1940's-1950's.
