Description: Most of these vintage original 1940s-1950s film noir movie poster ads and motion picture photo article prints are in excellent condition and only have light edge wear, most of which can easily be hidden behind the border of a picture frame or framing mat; however, please refer to the specific item details for each individual item in the descriptions below: 1946 The Strange Love of Martha Ivers Movie Poster Print: Featuring Barbara Stanwyck, Van Heflin, Lizabeth Scott, this vintage original 1946 The Strange Love of Martha Ivers movie poster advertisement was pulled from a vintage 1946 Life Magazine and it would look spectacular framed and displayed in an Old Hollywood cinema inspired home theater, living room, or old fashioned parlor room! In excellent vintage condition for its age, this 1946 The Strange Love of Martha Ivers movie poster ad only has a some light edge wear most of which can easily be hidden behind the border of a picture frame or framing mat. Please also note that if there is only one of these vintage original ads left in stock the one left available has an original printing flaw created during the 1946 printing process in the form of a tiny dot on Van Heflin's temple near his hairline; this is very faint and hard to detect unless closely examining (also not visible in the image provided). It could be some misplaced ink from the printing of the photography; and can easily be perceived as a beauty mark. Measurements: 10 1/4" x 14" 1945 Scarlet Street Movie Poster Print: Scarlet Street is a 1945 film noir starring Edward G. Robinson, Joan Bennett and Dan Duryea, who all had earlier appearances together in the 1944 film noir The Woman in the Window (another fetching flick); both movies are directed by Fritz Lang. In excellent vintage condition for its age, this 1945 Scarlet Street movie poster print ad is pulled from a vintage magazine and is nearly pristine aside from some light edge wear that can all easily be hidden behind the border of a picture frame or framing mat. There is a tiny original printing ink dot located at the upper edge of the print; this is barely noticeable and it too will be concealed once framed. *Please be rest assured to know that the streaks visible in the image provided are merely flaws in the scanning process used to capture the image for displaying here and are therefore not present on the actual vintage movie ad that we have available. Measurements: 10 1/4" x 14" 1946 Notorious Hitchcock Cary Grant Ingrid Bergman Movie Article Photo Print Set: Two scenes in the film have been widely cited as among Hitchcock's best, and the photography in this vintage original 1946 Life Magazine Movie of the Week article print set captures both of them marvelously! In one of the scenes, Hitchcock starts wide and high on a second floor balcony overlooking the great hall of a grand mansion. Slowly he tracks down and in on Ingrid Bergman, finally ending with a tight close-up of a key tucked in her hand. In the second famous scene, Hitchcock circumvented the Production Code's ban on kisses longer than three seconds by having his actors disengage every three seconds, murmur and nuzzle each other, then start again. The two-and-a-half-minute kiss was described by biographer Paul Duncan as "perhaps his most intimate and erotic kiss". And oh my goodness, just look at Cary Grant murmuring, nuzzling and kissing Ingrid Bergman in the bottom row of movie reel snapshots featured on one of the vintage prints in this set! This vintage original 1946 Life Magazine article feature "Movie of the Week" Notorious photo print set consists of two individual pages perfect for framing side by side! One page features the article as a small caption with stunning photos of scenes from the movie; depicting hypnotically handsome Cary Grant, romantic kisses with Ingrid Bergman, and a drunken behind-the-wheel quarrel! And the second page features a full page photo that shows the cinematography setting behind the iconic scene of Ingrid Bergman holding the key to the wine cellar. Director Alfred Hitchcock can be seen in the photo whispering to the cameraman as he instructs him about capturing the key in Ingrid Bergman's hand. On the backside of this page is the continuation of the article which features a half page column of photos from the movie with captions that are beside a half-page 1946 advertisement for Casco heating pads which ironically has a photo of a woman experiencing the "pain of difficult nights" as she is restless in bed which is very reminiscent of the Notorious movie scene of Ingrid Bergman when she is sick in bed from poisoning; the model even resembles Ingrid Bergman! Please keep in mind that this is a single page double-sided print with imagery on each side so you will only be able to display one at a time once framed. In excellent vintage condition, this two page 1946 Notorious "Movie of the Week" article is in excellent shape and only has light edge wear that can easily be hidden behind the border of a picture frame or framing mat. The vintage paper of this two page print set has a light sepia tone to it that is consistent throughout and common in vintage ephemera which only adds to its antiquated charm and beauty! Please be rest assured to know that the streaks visible in the images provided are merely flaws in the scanning process used to capture the images for showcasing here and are therefore not present on the vintage prints that we have available. Measurements: Each of the 2 pages measures: 10 1/4" x 14" 1952 The Las Vegas Story Movie Poster Print: One of Hollywood's leading sex symbols of the 1940s and 1950s, the seductively alluring Jane Russell glistens like the diamonds in Gentleman Prefer Blondes and her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Luxurious diamonds take center stage in this vintage original 1952 movie poster ad for Howard Hughes' 1952 suspense film noir The Las Vegas Story starring Jane Russell, Victor Mature, and Vincent Price. Making a dazzling gift for a lover of Las Vegas romance and the iconic Miss Jane Russell, this 1952 The Las Vegas Story movie poster would look sensational framed and displayed in a black and white accented Las Vegas inspired bride and groom honeymoon suite, casino game room, or Old Hollywood Regency cinema style home theatre! In excellent vintage condition for its old age, this 1952 The Las Vegas Story movie poster advertisement featuring Jane Russell is practically pristine aside from some light edge wear along the binding edge where the print was once bound to its magazine; this can easily be hidden behind the border of a picture frame or framing mat. Measurements: 10 1/4" x 14" 1946 The Postman Always Rings Twice Movie Article Photo Print Set: When one thinks of a femme fatale in film noir, odds are you are not imagining her wearing white... and you're certainly not visualizing her wearing white through the entire movie. However, this is exactly what director Tay Garnett decided for the character of Cora Smith in the 1946 film noir classic The Postman Always Rings Twice. Lana Turner plays Cora, and her nearly all-white wardrobe is the real star of the movie thanks to MGM's costume designer Irene Lentz; it is only in her worst, most tragic moments that she suddenly appears in black, presumably mourning or expressing a loss of innocence. ...I really enjoyed watching this movie! If you haven't seen The Postman Always Rings Twice, I highly recommend it! I can see why it has such great reviews and is known as Lana Turner's signature role! This vintage original 1946 Life magazine "Movie of the Week" article presents an in-depth film review and stunning black and white photos that perfectly capture the duality symbolism of the 1946 iconic black and white film noir The Postman Always Rings Twice. Included is a large striking photograph of Lana Turner wearing one of the famous white costumes in the film; it spans the entire length of the page and takes up over half of the print, making it great for framing. On the backside of this page is a center column of photos showing scenes from the movie, with the beach scene at the center; on either side of this center column are advertisement panels. If one chose to frame and display the large Lana Turner photograph this reverse side of the article would not be seen. However an additional page is included with this article set, another center column of movie photos with advertising on either side; shown here is the murder scene, courthouse scene, and the last swimming scene at the end of the movie. On the backside of this page is a vintage original movie poster ad for 1946's 20th Century Fox film The March of Time. In excellent vintage condition for its old age, this Post War 1946 movie article review for The Postman Always Rings Twice is practically pristine aside from some light edge wear that is barely noticeable and can easily be hidden behind the border of a picture frame or framing mat. Measurements: 10" x 14" 1945 The Spiral Staircase Movie Poster Print: Directed by Robert Siodmak, The Spiral Staircase stars three of Hollywood's iconic leading ladies, actresses Dorothy McGuire, Rhonda Fleming, and the legendary Ethel Barrymore. As one of my favorite 1940s film noir movies set in the Post Edwardian era, I can see why this classic film has such rave reviews! Aside from its star-studded cast, the storyline is riveting, chilling, and will have you on the edge of your seat...or perhaps under the bed! Ethel Barrymore's frightened character Mrs. Warren warns, "You must go away. Leave this house. ... If you won't, you must do as I tell you. Get under the bed!" The plot: In 1916, a shadowy serial killer is targeting women with "afflictions"; one night during a thunderstorm, the mute Helen feels menaced. In excellent vintage condition for its age, this 1945 The Spiral Staircase movie poster print ad was pulled from a vintage magazine and is nearly pristine aside from some light edge wear that can all easily be hidden behind the border of a picture frame or framing mat. *Please be rest assured to know that the streaks visible in the images provided are merely flaws in the scanning process used to capture the image for displaying here and are therefore not present on the actual vintage movie ad that we have available; this is mainly visible in the image of the 1945 Log Cabin Syrup General Foods and American Enterprise advertisement. Measurements: 10 1/4" x 14" 1946 Undercurrent Movie Poster Print: Based on the novel You Were There by Thelma Strabel, Undercurrent is a 1946 film noir drama motion picture featuring Katharine Hepburn, Robert Taylor, and Robert Mitchum. Variety said of the film, "Undercurrent is heavy drama with femme appeal...Hepburn sells her role with usual finesse and talent. Robert Mitchum, as the missing brother, has only three scenes but makes them count for importance." Between 1940 and 1948, the Gothic romance film was prevalent in Hollywood, being produced by well-known directors and actors. The best-known films of the era were 1940's Rebecca, 1941's Suspicion, and 1944's Gaslight; 1946's Undercurrent is also another celebrated and notable Gothic Romance film noir classic. In excellent vintage condition, this original 1946 Undercurrent movie poster advertisement is nearly flawless and only has some light edge wear which can easily be hidden behind the border of a picture frame or framing mat. On the backside of this movie poster ad there is a full page color advertisement for Eversharp pens, however this is actually part of a two page magazine spread and the other page of the writing pen ad is not included as this listing is intended for the 1946 Undercurrent movie poster spotlighted here. *Please be rest assured to know that the streaks visible in the image provided are merely flaws in the scanning process used to capture the image for presenting here, and are therefore not at all present on the vintage original movie poster ad that we have available. Measurements: 10" x 14" 1948 The Velvet Touch Movie Poster Print: The Velvet Touch is a 1948 American drama film noir starring Rosalind Russell, Leon Ames, Leo Genn and Claire Trevor. Film critics praised the production and one called the film "A sparkling crime melodrama richly steeped in theatrical atmosphere...In this solid production, the tension is kept up until the final curtain call as to whether Russell will confess, get caught, or get away with the crime of passion." As seen in this vintage original movie poster for the 1948 film noir starring Rosalind Russell it reads in elegant typographical print, "Rosalind has her eye on three men...three men have their eye on Rosalind...one of them is up to no good!" In good vintage condition for its age, this original 1948 Rosalind Russell movie poster advertisement for the 1948 film noir "The Velvet Touch" does have some light wear not visible in the image provided. Please note that there is corner and light edge wear on the far left-side edge of the print due to light water damage years ago. The water stain on the far left-side edge is barely noticeable however it is most prominent in the upper left and bottom left corners of the ad. Fortunately, most of this wear can easily be hidden behind the border of a picture frame or framing mat. Since this water damage occurred long ago when this print was still bound to its magazine, it was pressed against other pages at this time and now that it has been removed from its magazine some of the faint printed text and remnants of the page that it was pressed against are slightly present only in these far top and bottom corners on the left side edge. Like previously mentioned, most of this can be hidden when framing, but a small portion may still be visible as a little corner piece of the red background is affected in the upper left-hand corner; this is beyond the blank white border framing the advertisement. Likewise, in the bottom left corner some text has been transferred here and the very faint sepia hued water stain is slightly visible. Other than this, the print is in excellent shape; there is only an incredibly faint and barely noticeable water stain in the top right-hand corner that is hard to detect even upon close examination. Measurements: 10 1/4" x 14" 1952 Macao Movie Poster Print: "Everybody's lonely, worried, and sorry. Everybody's looking for something" says Jane Russell's character in Howard Hughes' 1952 black-and-white film noir adventure movie Macao starring Robert Mitchum and Jane Russell. Old Hollywood Golden Age film critics say, "If you are looking for an underrated film noir gem—that somehow got swept under the rug—this is it!...The sultry actress was never better, as she belts out a few torch songs, tosses insults at Mitchum with natural ease, shows her romantic side and looks right through the leering bad guys of Macao as if they didn't exist." Jane Russell was one of the leading sex symbol icons of Hollywood during the 1940s and 1950s, the famously seductive Jane Russell dances with beguiling fervor on this vintage original 1952 Macao movie poster advertisement. The film's slogan on this vintage theatrical print ad reads, "Dangerous paradise!...A man from nowhere...a woman with nowhere to go...try to forget their pasts in exotic, exciting Macao, port of sin and shady dealings!" In excellent vintage condition for its old age, this 1952 Macao movie poster advertisement featuring Jane Russell and Robert Mitchum is practically pristine aside from some light edge wear along the binding edge where the print was once bound to its magazine; this can easily be hidden behind the border of a picture frame or framing mat. Measurements: 10 1/4" x 14" 1946 Suspense Movie Poster Print: "Unmasking a Beautiful Woman's Secret and Unholy Desires! Sometimes men will do ANYTHING for a woman...and she was that kind of woman. For the promise that glowed on her sultry lips two men planned violent murders...crimes that trapped her in a fearsome vortex of destruction! It's the screen's supreme achievement in heart-stopping tension! A King Brothers Production starring Belita, Barry Sullivan, Bonita Granville, Albert Dekker, Eugene Pallette. Directed by Frank Tuttle, a Monogram picture." This 1946 era advertisement for the film Suspense, a King Brothers Production. There are two vintage original copies available for this print; the first is in very good condition with only very minor wear / curling along the edge where it was delicately removed from the magazine bind. The second one has a pink stain on the left side of the print. (If the quantity shows only one item is left available in stock, then you are buying this vintage print with a lower grade of condition. If it shows quantity 2 available, then you are buying the one in good condition.
