Description: 1914 Primitive Miniature Wood Shaker Pantry Spice Butter Box, New Hampshire #2 Click images to enlarge Description ANTIQUE MINIATURE BENTWOOD BOX Antique handmade bentwood miniature box measuring about 4" wide by 1" deep. Featuring a round box with fitted lid, it is made of unstained pine with an overlapping tongue on both the lid and base in the Shaker style. Construction is without nails - the wood edges are spaced with tiny notches that form a catch on the inside to hold the top and bottom disks in place. Bearing an incised mark of PAT. NOV-17, 1914 on both the top and bottom as shown, condition is very nice with no damage - it was originally purchased in New Hampshire. Haven't a clue as to original usage intent - guessing spices, butter or some similar pantry item. Shown with a small lock to give you an idea of size (not included). I have several additional boxes should you wish to purchase more than one. If questions, please contact me, thanks! Pictures sell!
