Description: 1882 CC $1 MS 63 Morgan Silver Dollar The Carson City Mint struck over 1.1 million Morgan dollars in 1882. However, a large number of those pieces were not immediately released into circulation. Instead, they were held in vaults in order to back up U.S. Silver Certificates. By the time the government stopped the exchange of silver certificates for silver dollars in 1964, the Treasury still had over half of the original mintage of the 1882-CC Morgan in its vaults! These were later released in the GSA sales of the late 1970's and early 1980's.Most Asked Question: Do you have a Store Front?
