1/35 StuG. III Ausf.A Cyber Hobby / Dragon Super Value #9143 Shrink Wrapped MISB

Description: I want to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. THIS IS MY LAST ONE! This is the forty-third kit in the long line of Orange Super Value Packs from Cyber Hobby (Dragon) that have become very hard to find. The StuG. III has appeared in several Orange Box releases due to its importance and widespread usage across all fronts. This early StuG. III can be marked as the one Michael Wittman used in Operation Barbarossa in 1941. This Super Value Pack kit is a modified repackaging of the very successful Dragon StuG III Ausf.B (DML #6008) with the bonus of four Panzermeyer ‘LAH’ Division figures from Mariupol 1941 (DML #6116). I found four listings for this kit on eBay (two under Dragon and two under Cyber Hobby), but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have this in stock and can reliably ship this very quickly. Here is some of the info I found from around the web: The dragon-models.com site has a colorful page for this kit showing the box art. They also provide the following information about this kit: Cyber Hobby is pleased to announce another fabulous Orange Box combo in its popular 1/35 scale collection. The new set includes a StuG.III Ausf.A along with four (and a half!) German figures. The StuG.III turned into Germany’s most widely produced armored fighting vehicle of WWII, with the Ausf.A getting the series under way. It was produced from January to May 1940. The main armament was a short-barreled 7.5cm StuK 37 L/24 gun. One of the most famous users of the StuG.III A was Michael Wittmann. He served in the LAH Division, and the kit replicates the precise vehicle he commanded during Operation Barbarossa. The included kit comes from existing Dragon toolings, although the product has been enhanced with Magic Tracks (editor’s note: I don’t think this is true) and a half-figure representing Wittmann. The other half of this Orange Box set is a fine line-up of German figures entitled "Panzermeyer, LAH Division". There are a handy four figures in the set, as the unit moves deep into Russian territory. The suitability of these figures for use with the StuG.III A kit becomes immediately obvious as they all hark from the same LAH Division. When put together, the German vehicle and soldiers are ideal for an interesting Eastern Front scene. This set from the Orange Box collection offers unbeatable value for money, as do all its predecessors. - Bonus Figures Set: Panzermeyer ‘LAH’ Division (Mariupol 1941) Scalemates.com shows that this is a 2013 release (with new parts) of Dragon’s classic 1998 tooling of StuG III Ausf.B (DML #6008). That tooling has been the basis of dozens of releases across the Dragon, Cyber Hobby, Hasegawa, Italeri, Revell, Zvezda and Platz brands. They have the box art and a link to download the complete, full-color 8-page instruction set and painting guide. There are also links to reviews, aftermarket parts, galleries and resources that could be useful. Scott Van Aken published a brief Preview on the modelingmadness.com site. He provides a short background on the development of the Sd.Kfz. 142 Sturmgeschütz III (StuG. III). He praised the high molding quality and multiple marking options, as well as the bonus figure set. We don’t see the plastic, but he gives us images of the box art, PE fret, the Parts Layout drawing and the excellent decals. His Conclusion sounds like a sales pitch: “If you have wanted a StuG IIIA, now you have the chance and you don't have to pay a fortune for it either. These kits are generally well received, thanks to their lower price and the bonus figures.” Dave Manter delivered a quick First Look Review on the cybermodeler.com site. He provides a half-dozen photos of the sprues and lower hull and gives a condensed construction sequence. He had some experience with this model, saying: “Having built one of these kits years ago myself, this kit does build into a very detailed model. With the exception of the track links, this kit will build up pretty quick and easy.” PanzerGarage posted a lengthy (21-minute) Unboxing Review Video on YouTube that uses the first 6 minutes to discuss StuGs in general and compare this kit to others. Then the instructions are reviewed before the plastic makes its first appearance at about the 11.5-minute mark. He then takes a close look at the Lower Hull and main sprues. He spends some time on the figure’s sprue and their weapons. The final parts are the decal and PE parts, which are not shown in much detail, unfortunately. This kit is in a large, sturdy box about 15” x 9.5” x 3”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is in terrific shape and still snugly sealed with the original shrink wrap, so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with over 450 grey plastic parts (including individual track links), a fret of photo etched metal parts, a commander figure, a sheet of Cartograf decals and a bonus set of four Panzermeyer ‘LAH’ Division figures from Mariupol 1941 (DML #6116). It requires cement and paint to complete as shown. I use eBay Managed Payments, but I no longer ship internationally. Auction winner pays winning bid and for a limited time, this item is offered with $9 Flat Rate Shipping in the US! No reserve and a low starting bid. Check out my other great auctions for combined shipping. Good luck! Those familiar with my listings can tell that I really enjoy these products and the modeling hobby. I like to provide more than just the bare facts about the items, trying to lead you into discovering more about the subjects and optimizing your builds (if that is your goal). I started out picking up models that I was interested in, with the eye toward building them when I had time. Always a bargain-hunter, I accumulated many more than I can build, so I found myself in a Collector status (sounds nicer than a hoarder). As I am sure you have noticed, my items are almost always sealed and in mint condition (I call them Gift-Ready), since I only open them when I am ready to build them. Now I enjoy making these products available to my fellow modelers; both Builders and Collectors. For the Builders, there are probably better (at least cheaper) ways to add to your project lists than buying from me, but you know you are getting top quality. For Collectors, my goal is to save you a few bucks over the competition for the same item in factory sealed and collectible (or resellable) condition.
